Dwight Howard Re-aggravates Torn Labrum

Late in the fourth quarter of a Thursday night matchup in Phoenix, Dwight Howard re-aggravated his partially torn labrum in his right shoulder when he was collecting himself to go up for a dunk. Shannon Brown slapped down on his right arm while Dwight was using all his force to raise his arms up and the contrast caused the whiplash in his shoulder.

The Lakers were in a tight battle with Phoenix as well, the second-worst team in the Western conference, however, with Steve Nash returning to the United Airways Center in the purple and gold, rest assured the Suns wanted to exact some revenge. 

The whining and soft Pau Gasol has made it clear that he does not agree with his bench role, but will begrudgingly accept it for the remainder of this season. If Dwight's injury is more serious, Gasol will almost certainly move into the starting unit to prove what he has left in the tank. 

Howard's shoulder will now be the topic of much debate - was his back fully healed to begin the season? Did he rush back too early? Most are saying that Dwight is still recovering and that is why he isn't at 100% this year, but his original return date was set for a month or two into the regular season. Dwight ended up starting in the first game of the year and has not looked impressive through half a season.

One might wonder if he should have waited a little bit to get back into the mix of things. his shoulder certainly thinks so.
