LeBron Going For Gold Without His Super Friends: Wade and Bosh to Miss Olympics
Dwyane Wade will be undergoing what is said to be a simple process on his knee and will not be able to resume basketball activities for 6-7 weeks. It's kind of funny to see Wade missing the Olympics after catching some heat for saying Olympic athletes should get paid earlier this year.
Bosh is simply taking time to rest the abdominal injury he suffered during the playoffs this season. Bosh's decision to rest his injury either means he lacks patriotism, or he's much tougher than we imagined after coming up big several times in the finals while dealing with such pain.
USA will also be missing Dwight Howard, who most agree would have started at center, due to his undergoing back surgery.
Despite a few of the stars dropping out, there's no need to worry in America. I see the starting lineup as Chris Paul, Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant, LeBron James, and Tyson Chandler, with guys like Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Love, Blake Griffin, and Russell Westbrook coming off the bench.
To be honest, our bench might be able to take home the gold on their own.
Especially considering Spain's Ricky Rubio will spend the summer rehabbing his knee, there's no reason we should fall short of gold this year.
