Dylan Favre, Brett Favre's Nephew, Is Setting Mississippi State High School Football Records
HS Football

Oh Dear God No. There's Another One.

I was really hoping that either after this season or next season, we'd never have to hear the name Favre again. But it looks like we may soon have to deal with yet another one for an extended period of time.

That's right, Favre has a nephew named Dylan Favre who is setting all kind of high school records with a gunslingin', just havin' fun style attitude. At least he hasn't thrown the quarterback set to replace him once he graduates under the bus yet. Anyway, Favre Light is only a junior, so expect to hear plenty more about him next year. He's already got eight rushing TDs this year to go along with his state-record 43 TD passes in a season. Only problem is he's fairly small for a quarterback (5'10", 180 lbs.). But hey, that just makes him grittier, and more gunslingin'er, or some other made up word that pertains to intangibles.

And naturally, all his opponents want to kill him because of that last name.

Because of his last name, comparisons to his uncle follow Favre around the clock. Few newspaper articles are written without mentioning Favre's bloodlines (his father, like Brett, played quarterback at Hancock North Central under their father, the late Irvin Favre). And the opposition usually is hungry to "knock me out," the low-key Favre said.

"Expectations," he said, "are high."

As of right now, Favre only has standard-issue letters from Ole Miss, Southern Miss, UCLA and Notre Dame, but no offers. Of course, we all know that'll certainly change by his senior season. Plus, what college wouldn't want to have a Favre on its sideline? There's always the possibility that you could get Brett to stop by and give the kids some pointers on how to throw game killing interceptions.

Anyway, I think we all know how this will end. Dylan sneaks onto some fairly decent program, primarily because of his last name, becomes a Todd Reesing style quarterback and of course winds up getting drafted by.......the Packers. Aaron Rodgers then gets arrested for the attempted murder of Dylan, making Favre Light the new QB of the Packers. Peter King dies of happiness. And the circle of life continues.

His stats certainly suggest that. But I have to admit, a 5'10" quarterback who throws sidearm is certainly a concern.

no doubt ... looked a lot more like Jeff Garcia than Brett Favre to me.  Still next level worthy, just something more like San Jose St (ish) ... or perhaps Southern Miss like uncle Brett

It's ok, we're just havin' fun out there. Laughin' and smilin' and gunslingin'.

Sounds like a good title for a country song.

With all those stats and he still finds time to start at free safety as well.  That's a pretty good night at the office so to speak.

Nephew? Are you kidding me, nephew (Best said if speaking in a Jim Mora Sr., like manner)

Come on this has to be Favre's and Maddens love child.

If he's anything like his uncle YES,  I COULD WATCH HIM for the next 12 - 15 years.
