ESC- please don't hit your escape button at this point. ESC-Entire Sports Commentary. Today is one of those rare days that I will comment on as many sports as I can fit on this page. So, you naysayers that say I don't talk about certain sports....here you go!
NHL:
-DC is going mad over their Capitals and with Friday's dramatic come from behind win, it's hard even for me to not notice. I would love it if the Penguins and the Capitals can eventually move on and play each other. Years ago, they had legendary series. Crosby vs. Ovechkin could be HUGE!
NBA:
-If Kobe really was jumping over cars, was he running from the police?
-We could see someone out West not make the playoffs with 50 wins. Aren't teams in the East making it in with 50 losses?
-Gilbert Arenas has finally started playing again. It seems to me (not that I care) that the Blizzards were playing better without him than with him.
-Will my favorite NBA player Jason Kidd really make a difference for Dallas? Negative
PGA:
-Will people care about the Masters if Tiger is too far behind? I'm iffy, but I don't think Tiger will pull it off. I still think he's the best to (ever) happen to golf. I hope he makes it interesting.
NFL:
-Glad to see that Bryant Gumbel will no longer be announcing games on the NFL Network. Those broadcasts were truly painful!
-I find it interesting about all of the talk that Gene upshaw might getting replaced as head honcho of the NFLPA. More interesting would be if the CBA gets re-opened. I think there's enough unrest among the owners that we could be looking at an interesting dynamic if/when negotiations take place with a new CBA. Who truly ends up losing? We, the fans.
NCAA Football:
-More Penn State stuff: since 2002, 60 PSU players have run afoul of the law. Good lord...Check out the following article for more: http://www.centredaily.com/news/local/story/520383.html
I could say more, but there's Baseball to be had today and it is the Cubs. Hoping not to see brooms in Philly today....
