I didn't bother watching this ESPN Town Hall Meeting on Michael Vick (did anyone?) because what happened was very predictable. Blind fans refusing to bring logic into the discussion and merely cheering what they wanted to hear, and booing what they didn't.
This exchange above sums up the Town Meeting best. One attendee asks about the comparison between Michael Vick's punishment and Bill Belichick.
For the 3,000th time, despite what you might think about dogfighting personally, the crime he committed was a FEDERAL OFFENSE. The crime Bill Belichick committed is classless and sleazy, and only violated the NFL's code of conduct.
Are you kidding me? Atlanta Falcons fans deserve everything they got from putting all of their hopes on an immature man. The fans that attended that "Town Hall" meeting last night are either stupid, blind, or will stand by their guy no matter what.
Deserve everything they got? What a joke. Very few Falcons fans think the way these people at the town meeting feel. The owners and general managers put Falcons fans in this position with the way they went about acquiring him. It's the same way the Saints put Ricky Williams on a pedestal. Vick just out lasted him.
Don't let the voice ESPN let's you hear be the one that represents all Atlanta fans. Most of us don't want to see him in the NFL ever again. At least all the ones I have talked to back home (an hour south of Atlanta) and on message boards.

On my TV it said sportscenter was on ESPN, instead I got this crap. Thank god I only watched about 5 minutes of it, but even that was too much for me to handle.
The comparison of Vick to Belichick moronic first of all, but then some fans in attendance were outraged that Vick's punishment was more severe that Belichicks... use your brains people.
The thing that really got me was the end of the meeting when the audience was polled, by show of applause, whether they thought dog fighting should be legalized. The "yes" votes were more prevalent than the "no " votes. The town hall meeting left me wondering if Jerry Springer was filming across the hall and his audience went in the wrong door? I know one thing's for sure, every village in Georgia was missing its idiot last night.
ESPN should have known better than to hold this in Atlanta. I am surprised that Bob Ley was able to get out with his life. Sorry, but this just shows how ridiculous fans can be, and Atlanta has some of the worst.

I should have clarified that I don't mean every Atlanta Falcons fan but at least every fan in attendance last night and a good amount that have given Vick the support and saying he is just a young guy who made some mistakes is a joke, and they deserve what they got.

Uh, wow. First off has Goodell even punished Vick yet (other than no training camp)? Secondly, how the hell does anyone compare a legal crime to something to happens in a sport? Sure Goodell did an absolutely horible job of handling the Patriots, but that has nothing to do with Vick.

Does indefinite suspension count as punishment? If that's considered punishment, then yes.
As for whether or not Springer was down the hall filming, Lynn, no he was not. In fact he was filming in that vary hall in which the 'village idiot' meeting was being held. Didn't you see the bald security dude up front restraining the girl who asked the question from ripping off her shirt?
Moral lesson in this is: If you want to get an ignorant crowd to listen to you with out boos, talk about conspiracy theories of the rich economic machine.
