As we all whitnessed Sunday night, the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Orlando Magic in game 5 of the NBA Finals to win their 15th NBA championship as a franchise. ESPN though, will hear nothing of the sorts.
During the Game 5 replay on ESPN early Monday morning, the great ad where Magic Johnson hits the sky hook to win Game 4 of the 1987 NBA Finals when at the very end of the commercial, the screen shot above comes on. I could understand if said "If Needed" but no where on the screen does it say that.
Now I am no expert, but I am pretty sure you only need to win 4 games in a best of 7 series to secure the championship, but according to ESPN, the Lakers now have to win 5 games to win the NBA championship.
ABC doesn't really have that great of prime time lineup, but I honestly don't think showing a game 6 in a series that is already over is going to bring in very good ratings at all but neither does Wipeout, I Survived A Japanese Game Show, and Cupid.
