The cold, snowy weather today has been an aesthetic delight for football fans during the early games today, especially in Philadelphia. The snow was heaviest there, particularly in the first half. It looked something like this.

Not surprisingly, offense was hard to come back in these conditions. The only score in the first half was a Lions touchdown. They went for two and succeeded because the conditions were so bad that kicking was a terrible idea. Thus, the Lions led 8-0 at the half. The snow stopped coming down in the second half and suddenly it became a shootout. Down 14-6, the Eagles took over in the fourth quarter. Philadelphia scored four touchdown in the final period, all on the ground, to win 34-20. LeSean McCoy ran for 217 yards. The Eagles move to 8-5 and put pressure on Dallas tomorrow night to keep pace in the NFC East. The Lions fall to 7-6 and give the Bears and Packers (victorious today to get to 6-6-1) life in the NFC North.
