Getting Ready for TNF, Eagles-Seahawks: Lots of injuries for Philly [Thursday Night Football Open Thread]
The NFL Network people can't be thrilled with how this matchup turned out. When the schedule came out the Eagles were supposed to this "Dream Team" (thank you Vince Young), and the Seahawks were supposed to at least be in the hunt for the NFC West crown. Instead the Eagles' season plummeted faster than a DeSean Jackson punt return and the San Francisco 49ers went bananas making the NFC West competition a non-competition.
But alas, NFL football is NFL football, and if you can find a TV set with NFL Network I imagine you'll be watching tonight.
As if it's disappointing season isn't enough, Philadelphia is riddled with injuries. Michael Vick will miss his third consecutive game with a rib injury, meaning Young gets another start. Young threw for a career-high 400 yards last week while his team was getting waxed by the New England Patriots. Also out for the Eagles are wide receiver Jeremy Maclin (shoulder and hamstring), cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie (ankle), offensive tackle King Dunlap (head) and linebacker Moise Fokou (ankle). Running back LeSean McCoy (toe) and cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha (knee), one the team's many high-profile offseason additions, are both questionable and will be game-time decisions.
Earlier in the week the Seahawks placed wide receiver Sidney Rice (head) on injured reserve, but are otherwise relatively healthy.
Kickoff is set for 8:20 p.m. ET at CenturyLink Field in Seattle.
