Occasionally as a blogger you come across stories that are just so ridiculous that they make the fact that you live in your mother's basement totally worthwhile. This is one of those stories. It seems that fat, lazy Knicks center Eddy Curry, who's played a total of 2 minutes, 38 seconds this season because of "knee injuries" (translation: he's on Mike D'Antoni's s*** list), is being accused of sexual harassment......but not by a woman.
Yes, it seems that Curry's former driver for three years, David Kuchinsky, is accusing the big man of trying to solicit gay sex from him. Yikes. So, let's of course go straight into the disturbing details.
The stunning court papers claim Curry, a married father of three, repeatedly approached chauffeur David Kuchinsky "in the nude," allegedly telling him, "Look at me, Dave, look" and "Come and touch it, Dave."
By the way, "Come and touch it, Dave" is the early sports quote of the year as far as I'm concerned. Now, as bad as that is, it only gets worse. Much worse. Kuchinsky also claims that Curry had a tendency to, uh, flog the dolphin into towels and force Kuchinsky to get rid of rid of the dirty laundry. Man, I sure as hell hope that isn't true.
Kuchinsky, who is straight and Jewish, also alleges racial discrimination, saying that Curry called him a variety of less than hilarious things, including "f---ing Jew," "cracker," "white slave," "white devil" and "grandmaster of the KKK." Oh, and supposedly Curry pointed a loaded pistol at Kuchinsky's head a few times.
Naturally, one wonders what Curry's take is on all of this. His response came, of course, through his lawyer.
His lawyer, Kelly Saindon, denied all of Kuchinsky's allegations, calling them "absolutely untrue," and saying he began making a series of claims for unpaid wages several months ago, upping the ante each time.
Now would also be an excellent time to mention that Kuchinsky is an ex-felon who also got three years of probation in a 2004 resisting-arrest case in New Jersey. And, withouth fail, this all has to do with money. Kuchinsky claims that Curry owes him $68,000 in unpaid wages, as well as $25,000 in expenses for which Curry never repaid him.
So, it's not crazy to think that this story is completely false, and just an attempt by some bitter ex-con to rake in some cash. But then again, I also remember that Isiah Thomas was accused of sexual harassment in 2006 by Knicks VP of marketing, Anucha Brown Sanders, and she won the case, taking $11.6 million from the Knicks. I also remember how during that whole trial, it came out that Stephon Marbury had gotten busy with a Knicks intern in an SUV.
In other words, lord only knows what's possible when it comes to the Knicks.
I don't really know what Curry did, and I highly doubt he did everything that Kuchinsky is saying, especially because Curry's about the laziest guy in the history of the NBA. He doesn't have enough motivation to do half the things Kuchinsky says he did. But I also know that there's usually always a little bit of truth in stories like these. Either way, should make for some interesting road games in the future for Eddy.
