Mandatory Credit: Dan Hamilton-USA TODAY SportsIn case you haven't noticed, Edwin Encarnacion is hitting the cover off the ball in the month of May.

After last night's game, he now has 16 home runs in May, tying the American League record set by Mickey Mantle back in 1956. He's only 1 short of tying the MLB record, which was 17 by Barry Bonds in 2001.

Encarnacion is on a hot streak the likes of which we haven't seen since... well, the infamous "Steroid Era."

I'm not accusing Encarnacion of anything, but the fact is that he is doing something that hasn't been done without pharmaceutical aids for a long time.

He also tied a MLB record with his 5th multi-homer game in the same month.

He'll undoubtedly win AL Player of the Month for May, and the Blue Jays are hoping he can keep this up for a few more months.
