Emeka Okafor out indefinitely with neck injury
Emeka Okafor has been known as a high level character guy ever since his days in college, unfortunately, he is also known as a highly prone injury player as well. As Okafor was working out this off season to prepare for opening day less than forty days away, the big man was diagnosed with a herniated disc injury in his neck.
“I have worked hard over the summer and was looking forward to the start of training camp next week, so this is a disappointing and frustrating situation for me,” Okafor said. “But I have confidence that my teammates and coaches will be able to continue to take steps towards our goal of making the playoffs and that I will be able to do my part to help them once I return.”
The Wizards were many peoples underdog team in the Eastern Conference after the way that they finished the regular season last year, however, Okafor remains a crucial piece to that nucleus if they are going to make it this year. The Wizards have lack of size and experience in their front court, so unless Okafor can play at least sixty games this season, the Wizards may be on the outside looking in once again.
