Rich get richer. That should be the subheading for today's MLB Trade Deadline.

According to Jon Heyman of SI, this deal is essentially done.

The Boston Red Sox and Texas Rangers have agreed in principle to a trade involving former Cy Young winner Eric Gagne.

The Rangers are set to receive prospects in the deal, which is on hold as Boston negotiates with Gagne to waive his no-trade clause.

For the sake of any fun in the AL, let's hope the Red Sox don't pair this with Jermaine Dye as well.

The Yankees were always the team that had the skill and the best players in baseball. Boston deserves to be the team to get all of this recognition. As long as the Red Sox can keep the young talent in place too, they shouldn't be compared to the Yankees. Boston has had a long run in which they weren't recognized, well now they will be recognized.

The Trade is officialy done, one thing I dont like is we traded Kason Gabbard away to get Eric Gagne, I really liked Gabbard and it worries me if some one gets hurt,

So are line up looks like this

Schilling, Beckett, Matsuzaka, Lester and Wakefield, hope we can stay healthy

We have Tavarez who can throw 5 innings for us. We has this guy Clay Buchholz in the minors who has the stuff of an ace. I am PUMPED. Gabbard is the typical case of "bye low....sell high" The Sox sold him well he had a lot of interest. Gabbard will be a decent starter but he isn't something to call home about.

Excellent pickup for the Red Sox as it bolsters the bullpen and helps shorten the game. Red Sox starters only need to get to thru the 6th inning and then turn it over to Okajima, Gagne and Papelbon. That's quite a trio to close the game out.
