This is the deepest freshman class EVER in college basketball. Thank you, David Stern for the opportunity to watch these future NBA stars for a year. Greg Oden and Kevin Durant were in their own stratosphere as far as last years class was concerned, but there's a chance this class has at least 5 that might be in the same category. Eric Gordon is without question among those. As impressive as those 33 points were, his defense and "basketball IQ" are scary good for a true freshman playing his very first game. With Indiana down 4 points at half, Gordon's pressure D ignited a long run that results in a 99-79 Hoosiers win over Tennessee-Chattanooga. In total, Gordon was 9-15 (7-11 3PT), 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals and a blocked shot.
This freshman of the year race could turn into the player of the year race.
