Eric Gordon Out Indefinitely

At the end of last season, one in which Eric Gordon played in only eight games, the New Orleans Hornets seemed intent on bringing back their star guard, the prized possession of the Chris Paul trade with the Clippers.  Gordon signed a max-offer sheet with Phoenix and the Hornets matched it, assuming that a year rehabbing his knee would prove to be enough to get Gordon back on the floor.

Gordon will be "out indefinitely" with knee trouble, with no set timetable for his return. To put it lightly,. Eric will be collecting a paycheck while sitting on the pine dressed in a very nice expensive suit watching his teammates play night in, night out.

The Hornets made the commitment to Gordon and assumed a paring between him and Austin Rivers in the backcourt would prove to be a deathly combination in a few years, adding to a team fresh off drafting Anthony Davis.

Excitement was at an all-time high, well at least since Chris Paul departed, when the Hornets put together their core over the summer, however, heading into opening night against the San Antonio Spurs you have to assume that they are tempering their expectations now starting Grieves Vasquez at the two spot in place of Gordon.

One can only hope, for the sake of the Hornets future that Gordon will return healthy soon because he is a talent that would be a shame to go to waste.
