
It's Manager of the Year Day during MLB Awards week. Eric Wedge was appropriately named the AL winner by a large margin over Mike Scioscia and Joe Torre.
Bob Melvin is very deserving of the NL Award by leading the Diamondbacks to an NL best 90 wins, but I can't believe the honor wasn't given to Clint Hurdle who accomplished the unimaginable during the final month of the season. What's even worse it that Charlie Manuel finished second, ahead of Hurdle.
Tomorrow the NL Cy Young will be awarded to Jake Peavy, Monday the AL MVP to Alex Rodriguez. Tuesday brings more intrigue with what should be a very close NL MVP vote between several deserving candidates.
