Eric Wedge's Gamble Pays It Off, Paul Byrd Pitches the Cleveland Indians into the ALCS

The choice to start Paul Byrd over C.C. Sabathia was debated with most of us in disagreement, but that's why Eric Wedge will be managing the Cleveland Indians in the American League Championship Series. We'll just be hacking away at our computers watching at home.

Now, the Indians will have a well rested Sabathia and Fausto Carmona for games 1 and 2 against Boston. Doesn't sound too bad does it?

Cleveland is on to its first ALCS since 1998, and officially takes over as my adopted team during these playoffs. Those struggling through lengthy droughts should cheer on others with similar fate, right? (even if it's 40-less years)

Indians 6, Yankees 4

Two more things on the Yankees:

1. I'm hearing this second hand from a Baseball Think Factory poster, but apparently Michael Kay is still saying that the Yankees are the better team. That pretty much encapsulates why people hate the Yankees and their fans so much.

2. For certain people (you know who you are), read this before blaming everything on A-Rod. By my count, that's 17 outs accounted to Jeter in 17 at-bats.

OK, that's it for New York.

Congrats to Cleveland. With Sabathia, Carmona, that offense, and most of the bullpen, they've got a good chance against Boston. Borowski still scares the crap out of me though. He's gonna blow a game at some point in these playoffs. I just hope it happens in the World Series.

Thankfully you just have a post up about the Indians winning. The first thing I saw this morning on ESPN's website was a big picture of the Yankees losing. Please, please don't throw up a bunch of posts about the Yankees. They lost. So did the Angels, Cubs, and Phillies but they didn't get this much press for it.
