Everton’s crown jewel Marouane Fellaini has confirmed he would be willing to join Chelsea in the summer. The versatile midfielder, who has been in phenomenal form this season, reiterated his desire to play for the Champions League winning side.
The 25-year-old Belgium international announced he wanted to play Champions League football next season and that can only be guaranteed by a moving into a big club.
Marouane Fellaini’s rise in form has caused admiring glances from a couple of top notch clubs across Europe. Manchester United were the frontrunners for Marouane Fellaini’s signature during the winter transfer window, but the Premier League leaders have backed out of the race because of the high price tag Everton has set on the player.
Chelsea’s radar picked up Marouane Fellaini during the winter transfer window as well, but football powerhouse weren’t able to seal the deal for reasons similar to Manchester United’s snub.

Everton demanded £35 million as transfer fees for Marouane Fellaini when Manchester United first inquired about his availability. Everton manager David Moyes announced he was in no hurry to sell his squad’s coveted asset, which is why he would wait for the right price.
Marouane Fellaini, who snubbed offers from Manchester United in the past, agreed to a five-year deal worth £15 million from Everton in 2008. The signing was a club record for Everton, which is why the Merseyside desire to make the most out of Marouane Fellaini’s exit.
“Am I interested in Chelsea? It’s normal, right? I’ve never played in the Champions League,” Marouane Fellaini was quoted by the Daily Mirror. “I’m happy here, I know everyone, I get along with my team-mates. It’s my home. On the other hand, I also want to take the next step. Fate will decide.
“Everton paid £20 million and do not want to sell me for nothing. If a big club wants me, they will have to pay the price.”
Marouane Fellaini has netted 11 times in 24 games for Everton this season. The midfielder has been one of the most impressive performers in the Premier League this season.
