Falcons S William Moore arrested, charged with battery
Fulton County Jail Records show that William Moore was booked-in at 11 a.m. on Thursday following an incident.
"We are aware of the situation involving William Moore and are in the process of gathering more information," an Atlanta Falcons spokesperson released in a statement. "Because this is now a legal matter, the club will have no further comment at this time."
William Moore reportedly got into an argument with a woman and grabbed her shoulder fanning a dispute that eventually resulted in his arrest.
Before reports of the arrest surfaced on Thursday, William Moore had no prior run-ins with the law during his four-year NFL career.
The 27-year-old William Moore is coming off his career best season, finishing with 105 tackles and four interceptions despite sitting out our games due to hamstring injury. William Moore went on to his first Pro Bowl as an alternative after San Francisco 49ers Pro Bowl safeties Dashon Goldson and Donte Whitner reached the Super Bowl.
After becoming an unrestricted free agent this offseason, William Moore was re-signed to a five-year deal worth $30 million, including $14 million guaranteed, by the Atlanta Falcons.
Originally a second-round pick out of Missouri in the 2009 NFL draft, William Moore was sidelined through most of his rookie season with knee and hamstring injuries. But William Moore broke into the lineup in the 2010 season, starting 15 games for the Atlanta Falcons as he posted 108 tackles and five interceptions. The following season, William Moore played 11 games with 12 starts, while contributing 62 tackles and two interceptions to the Atlanta Falcons.
William Moore has 159 tackles, 11 interceptions and five forced fumbles in 42 career games.
