The Falcons and Seahawks gave us one more reason this is the best weekend of the year
Tony Gonzalez didn't have a monster game if you look at his numbers, but his 6 catches and 51 yards seemed to come at the most important times.
Gonzalez had the first TD of the game, in the first quarter, which put the Falcons up 10--0.
They continued to roll, and took a 27-7 lead into the 4th quarter.
The Seahawks then mounted an incredible comeback, and actually took a 28-27 lead with 31 seconds left in the game.
The Falcons, with two timeouts and around 30 seconds left, did what John Fox and the Broncos didn't have the stones to do yesterday. They marched down the field, got within field goal range, and nailed a 49 yard field goal for the win. Gonzalez made a huge catch to put the Falcons into field goal range, helping to secure the win.
Ironically, Falcons kicker Matt Bryant's first attempt at the kick went wide right, but Seahawks coach Pete Carroll tried to ice him by calling a timeout. Bryant made it, when it counted.
Congrats to Matt Ryan and the Falcons, who will host the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship game.
