Most people get upset when they are told "F--- you". Those two words might have started more fights than any other words in the the English language. But when Cleveland Browns GM Phil Savage came under fire for saying that in an email to an angry fan, the fan was quick to step up for Savage amid the controversy.Instead of being angry at Savage for the undeniably inappropriate response, "Brett" (the fan wishes to remain somewhat anonymous, even though he has already made TV appearances regarding the email) actually is encouraged by Savage's passion.
From Ohio.com via Fanhouse:
"If he actually gets fired for that, I hope to God he doesn't, I'd like Randy Lerner to call me. It shows Phil Savage has a passion for the game. That's what we need. If he does get fired over something like this, we need a new owner. If Roger Goodell is watching this, you just reinstated Pacman Jones, you've got that cokehead Matt Jones still playing. You can't do anything to Phil Savage over this."
Interesting take, considering the GM just told him "F*** you" and to be a Bills fan. Passion? Or unbridled, rash stupidity. I'm thinking it's the latter, and this man has loads of it. Sure, the GM needs some passion. But when that passion is being taken out on the fans, instead of harnessed to make sound football decisions, maybe a change is in order."Brett" should probably just start walking around with a shirt that says "I'm Phil Savage's B!&@#," because that's pretty much what just happened.
