Fan vs Fan World Series Predictions: Why the Tigers will beat the Cards in 6

The World Series is just a day away and who better to preview than the fans themselves. Fox may not be pleased it's a midwestern World Series, but our passionate Tigers and Cardinals fans sure don't mind. To get us starter, here's Marshall's prediction for the World Series.

Does the slipper fit?

The Prince has come to Comerica Park with the famous glass slipper. He has found Leyland and La Russa waiting to try it on. However, as the Prince looks closely at the slipper he sees fur not feathers as the Tigers finish the Cinderella story of 2006.

Pitching
We all know the stats and match-ups of the starters and how it all leans in the Tigers direction, but the real difference is in the bullpens. Zumaya, Rodney, Walker, Ledezma, Grilli and Jones have dominated all postseason. The bullpen has only allowed 4 earned runs all postseason. If St. Louis can not find ways to score early this could be a short series.

Pressure

The Tigers are young and naive. Their attitude is that this is only the beginning of our run. The Cards on the other hand have seen the signs that this might be the end of their NL dominance.  That this might be their last chance to walk away with a title.

Emotion/Preparation
At least at the start of this series this is a definite Tiger advantage. The Tigers have had a week to recover from the emotions of a series victory, a week to prepare for the series, a week to heal injuries and a week for Leyland to game-plan. The Cards have had to focus all their attention on just getting by the Mets. They have had to go through the emotional and physical roller coaster that is a 7 game series. The Cards are going to be tired and on a emotional low for game 1.  A game one trounce and a confident Tigers could spell trouble for the rest of the series.

Prediction
- Tigers in 6

I really disagree. No way will they be at an emotional low. It's game one of the WORLD SERIES, they just won the pennant in the ninth inning of game seven. Emotion is definatley on the Cardinals side right now. Still, do I think they lose the series to the Tigers? Yes, but not because of being low on emotion.

the classic letdown theory. you have a emotional high from a big victory then the next game the same passion just ain't there. they could keep the high but i don't think they'll be as up for game 1 as the tigers

How will the cardinals be on an emotional low for game 1? They just won a game 7 in the 9th inning. That should put them on a high actually.
