FanIQ GameDay Live: Week 11

Do the Chiefs stay unbeaten against the Broncos? [FanIQ GameDay Live]

Blog Photo - FanIQ GameDay Live: Week 11Hello and welcome to FanIQ GameDay Live for Week 11. Today's guest is kteacher, aka Becky, aka Teach. While she's been busy this week teaching 8 year olds to pray for Jonathan Quick's groin, she graciously took the time to give her thoughts on today's games. Luckily there are a few good ones this week, so let's get to it.

EARLY GAMES

N.Y. Jets at Buffalo

Teach: Jets...the coach amuses me and nothing about Buffalo does anything for me.

Eric: I'm tired of the "hee hee the Jets alternate wins and losses" thing, so I'm picking the Jets to end that streak today.

Baltimore at Chicago

Teach: Chicago...Flacco was my QB in FF once, I'm still bitter.

Eric: The whole Ravens offense has been terrible, both Flacco and the ghost of whatever happened to Ray Rice. The thing that makes me bitter though is the Bears having success with Josh McCown. Bears *grumble grumble*

Cleveland at Cincinnati

Teach: Bengals....no reason.

Eric: OK, Bengals, can you get it together now? You're letting the Ravens, the Browns (quarterbacked by Jason Campbell), and worst of all, the Steelers back in it. Restore order please.

Washington at Philadelphia

Teach: Philadelphia

Eric: The two big questions with the Eagles are "When will they win a home game?" and "Is Nick Foles a fluke?" Thanks to getting to play the terrible Washington defense, the answers are "today" and "maybe, but not yet."

Detroit at Pittsburgh

Teach: Ugh. I'll go with Detroit because ....well they are playing Pittsburgh.

Eric: I love that answer because it reminds Steelers fans that guess what, everyone doesn't love you. I'm also picking the Steelers because that's what the NFL does to me.

Atlanta at Tampa Bay

Teach: Falcons. No way would I pick another team. :)

Eric: Woof.

Arizona at Jacksonville

Teach: Jacksonville. Shut up. I hate the Coyotes and the Cards are their cousins.

Eric: People care enough about the Coyotes to hate them? Wow. Anyway, Cardinals because by Football Outsiders DVOA, the Jags right now are the 3rd worst team of the last 20 years.

Oakland at Houston

Teach: I'm going with Oakland. This isn't Houston's year. Better to lose and get a high draft pick.

Eric: Woof.

LATE GAMES

San Diego at Miami

Teach: San Diego SUPER CHARGERS...SAN DIEGO SuPER CHARGERS....Just say no to bullying.

Eric: Agree, not that the Dolphins players and organization seem to. Chargers benefit from Miami's self-inflicted destruction.

San Francisco at New Orleans

Teach: Saints. I hate San Francisco teams and could never pick one. #socalforever

Eric: The Colin Kaepernick backlash has begun. He hasn't been great, but he hasn't been bad either, but he joins RGIII in having way too high expectations in year 2 that probably couldn't be met. I'm trying to suppress my cynical side that wants to say there's another reason. Also, the Saints will win.

Green Bay at N.Y. Giants

Teach: Giants. Doesn't Green Bay have a million injuries? So, my pick...the Giants.

Eric: To make myself feel better, I've been saying SCOTT TOLZIEN like he's STEVE HOLT. It didn't work. (Pick: Despair followed by apathy)

Minnesota at Seattle

Teach: Seattle....one of the few teams I've actually paid attention to. They win...probably after being down by 17 in the first half.

Eric: Seattle fans are getting annoyed at the flack the team is getting for not blowing out crappy teams (Source: people Jess RT's on Twitter). Well, a sign of a good team is kicking the crap out of the bad ones. The Atlanta game helped though, and this one should too, because Minnesota really really sucks.

SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL

Kansas City at Denver

Teach: I'm going with the Broncos because there is a KC fan I follow on Twitter and he's annoying on game days. A loss will do him good. Final pick ...Denver by 10.

Eric: Quarterbacks the Chiefs have faced this year: Blaine Gabbert, Tony Romo, Michael Vick, Eli Manning, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Terrell Pryor, Case Keenum, Jason Campbell, Jeff Tuel. The Chiefs defense is good, but there's a reason why people are hesitant. Even a hobbled Peyton Manning is better that most of that group, so Broncos.

Also, if I'm not more annoying on Twitter on IndyCar race days, then I've failed.

MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL

New England at Carolina

Teach: I'm going with Carolina...just because.

Eric: Sure why not. That Carolina defense is nasty.

Thanks Teach for your input. Everyone else, Q it up here throughout Week 11.

(Pick: Despair followed by apathy)

I didn't bother to look at my other picks, but I know this one was accurate.

Scott Tolzien officially ends the Packers season. I'm convinced we're somehow getting a Bears/Steelers Super Bowl.

Why must the Bears be the one team having success with a backup quarterback? I hate football.

*string of expletives*

Imagine if they had played the 3 previous quarters!

Texans falling completely apart now...Matt Schaub and Andre Johnson exchanging un-pleasantries on the sideline.  broken heart

Monroe Co, Indiana under tornado warning.  IU basketball due to start at 5, so another possible severe weather interruption today.

Looks like the Ravens/Bears have resumed play.

That fake field goal call by Jim Schwartz is going to give him nightmares if the Lions lose this game

How bad is it for the Falcons right now?

Backup quarterback injured in mop up time so Matt Ryan forced to come back into a game where the starters had already been pulled.

Football coverage has been hijacked by local weather coverage, as a large tornado is confirmed on the ground just north of here.

I'm already pissed at the Lions for blowing this. Stupid cockroach Steelers.

Geno Smith benched in favor of Matt Simms.  Jets respond with a touchdown

I am lying on the floor, kicking and screaming over Tomlin not deciding to go for it.  I understand, to a degree.

And I've changed my mind about the throwbacks.  Burn them all.

Schaub in the game for Texans.

11/17/13   |   Eric_   |   7716 respect

I do believe this is rock bottom for the Falcons. Probably for Washington too.

Matt McGloin with his 3rd touchdown pass of the game.  Raiders back out in front of the Texans

11/17/13   |   Scott   |   51934 respect

I am guessing Bobby Rainey is going to be the biggest waiver wire add in fantasy football next week.

11/17/13   |   Eric_   |   7716 respect

Is it just me or did just about every team that led early collapse?

11/17/13   |   Scott   |   51934 respect

Matt Stafford and Calvin Johnson starting to exploit the aging Steelers secondary.

We have ourselves a shootout in Pittsburgh

11/17/13   |   Eric_   |   7716 respect

These games had an hour to keep me interested before the F1 race. They failed.

11/17/13   |   Scott   |   51934 respect

Lions really laying an egg in Pittsburgh.

Go Falcons

11/17/13   |   AlwaysSunshine   |   7335 respect

If the Steelers have to wear those ugly-ass bumble bee throw backs to get their mojo on, then so be it.  In other news, I'm battening down the hatches in anticipation of Tornadogeddon since the sun just came out and daytime warming of the atmosphere is happening.

There are forecasts for very severe weather in the Midwest that could affect some games, especially the Bears game.
