FanIQ Interactive Mock NFL Draft: Cincinnati Bengals

With The Sixth Pick In The FanIQ NFL Mock Draft, The Cincinnati Bengals Select...

With the NFL Draft coming on April 25, we're putting together a Mock Draft for the first round of the draft, featuring a combination of FanIQ Featured Writers, as well as some great NFL team bloggers from around the internet. Today, we've featured picks from the Seattle Seahawks, Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals. Every day until Friday, April 24, we will post more picks, with recaps of why each player was chosen, with some other analysis.

Next up is Mickey from Who Dey Fans, He'll be making the #6 pick for the Cincinnati Bengals.

Here are the picks so far:

1. Detroit Lions - Aaron Curry, LB, Wake Forest
2. St Louis Rams - Eugene Monroe, OT, Virginia
3. Kansas City Chiefs - Jason Smith, OT, Baylor
4. Seattle Seahawks - Matthew Stafford, QB, Georgia
5. Cleveland Browns - Michael Crabtree, WR, Texas Tech

Over the past several years the Cincinnati Bengals have had a pretty formidable offense.  Really shining in 2005 Carson Palmer and the boys took to the air and could score at will on their opponents.  Since that season (and the loss of some key offensive lineman) the offense has still been good but not great.  Last year, due to some horrible protection by the offensive line, the offense was close to last in the league in most categories. This screams that the Bengals will need to draft an offensive lineman with their first pick in the draft.

Other than OLine, the Bengals have also not had much of a running game in the past couple years. I think some time has to be spent considering one of the top running backs in the draft.  Either Chris “Beanie” Wells (Ohio State) or Knowshon Moreno (Georgia).  I think both of these backs will have great NFL careers but may be a reach at number 6. Also in the mix is the wide receiver Jeremy Maclin (Missouri).  With TJ gone and the possibility of Chad being traded or half assing it again this year it is always a good idea to have many options for Carson Palmer.

Ultimately I go for a guy that I feel will be a great asset to any offensive line in Michael Oher (Mississippi).  He has shown in college to be a great pass blocker as well as opening the running game to rack up over 2400 yds.  He also has been very durable in his career and has not battled injury.  A guy like this could shore up the left side of the line for Carson Palmer for many years.

Good pick Mickey.  Either him or Orakpo.  I just don't want Andre Smith.  WHO DEY THINK THEY GONNA BEAT DEM BENGALS!  (any non-Lions, Browns, and Chiefs fans, do not take the question literally)

Justin, we jumped the gun on this way back in January...If Orakpo's there you got to take him, right? I love Oher and think he will prove all of the pundits wrong for listing him 5th or worse among OL coming out this year, but Orakpo will instantly upgrade that young solid defense to one that Marvin Lewis can lean on while the offense figures it out.

That coach?  You mean the greatest D coordinator for your favorite team?  Well articulated argument there.  How are the Orioles doing?

Ok, keep that coach and keep that last place finish that goes with it. Your Reds will finish last also, but you're probably used to it.

Argue this...The Bengals suck.  The Steelers own them.  I could care less if they beat the Browns every year, they are nowhere near class in any league,  And Marvin Lewis has no discipline and will only be respected as a D-Coordinator.  Keep pickin top 10 Cincy...you are bound to find some talent

I  "hope you stop talking to me"  Please make a real argument and I will respond.

Oh i see, so because he didn't pee enough then it shouldn't count that he KILLED SOMEBODY WITH HIS CAR?

Chris Henry, not a poster child but also not a murderer.

What part of "I hope he goes to jail" is unclear to you?  But Leonard Little is looking for you.

He is NOT MY WIDEOUT.  He is a Phil Savage wideout.  And if you believe that he just got done drinking and was speeding around you are a fool.  He drank the previous night and just didn't pee enough.  I hope he goes to jail.  He sucks anyways but if you, being a Bengals expert, think Chris Henry is good for any team you are a complete D-Bag.

I was joking about Coles.  Stick around, I make fun of Cleveland all the time.  Make fun of Quinn...at least he has 2 knees.

2 knees and no stats.  Palmer came back on that bum knee and made the pro bowl.  He was also the MVP of that pro bowl.  And, the Bengals still own the Browns.

Coles is hurt?  In April?  Ocho Cinco will not like that?

What media do you pay attention to?  You are a browns fan that is just guessing.  It is easy to bring up the arrests and Ocho's attitude.  Who will be Clevelands receivers?  The guy who is going to be brought up on charges for killing a pedestrian or the guy who is about to get traded.

And your QB?  Quinn?

Yeah, poke fun at the Bengals.

Seriously?  I think Coles fills that void  A 3 wr set with Ocho, Coles and Henry seems pretty awesome.

30 teams have had an arrested player since the last Bengals arrest (Leon Hall just got picked up for DUI)

They were ranked 12th last year without Keith Rivers for half the season, and they added Tank, who hopefully can be productive.

Oher makes sense. They lost Stacy Andrews in free agency, so they're gonna need someone to block for Carson Palmer or he's gonna end up on IR again.
