As someone who observed Andy Reid for so many years in Philly this Chiefs team was like so many of Andy's best teams in Philly. Beating all the teams they were supposed to and losing to any team who was even a little better than they were. The offense was efficient led by a QB who when at his best didn't make many mistakes (Alex Smith man/Donovan McNabb) a RB who was explosive and among the best in the league (Jamaal Charles/Brian Westbrook), no receivers of note (am I right Dwayne Bowe fantasy owners), a defense he didn't have his hands on in any respect and probably most importantly NO GM responsibilities. After picking up where he left off last season some key injuries seemingly had Andrew Luck "regressing to the mean". The Colts did seemingly get it together winning 4 of their last 5 games to end the season including a week 16 win at Kansas City against these very Chiefs. Colts
Both teams are all over the map, but give me Indy's unfair home field as the difference. 27-21 Indy.
Even though the Colts are coming off a pretty solid thumping of the Chiefs a few weeks ago and are a 2 ½ point favorite at home, I like the KC to get back to playing dominant defense and I think they’ll be able to control the clock with a whole lot of Jamaal Charles. I think he will easily get 25 to 30 touches. Luck will make some plays to keep them in it, but all Smith will have to do is “manage” the game. He seems pretty proficient at that. Kansas City 26 Indianapolis 24
These 2 teams are pretty evenly matched, but the Colts rode all over the Chiefs a couple weeks ago in Kansas City. Coupled with the fact that the Chiefs were beaten by the Chargers as well, I don't think the Chiefs stand a chance in Indianapolis. Foolish Forecast: Indianapolis by 3 lengths. 27-13
Chiefs 21 @ Colts 24. The Colts are playing extremely hot right now. Having burned the Chiefs 23-7 on Dec 22 the Colts are looking to repeat.
Indianapolis Colts 27 - Kansas City Chiefs 24
When these guys played in Kansas City in the regular season, the Colts handled the Chiefs fairly well. On one hand, I could say that Kansas City will be more prepared for this team after facing them already and will play better against them. On the other hand, I could say that the Colts have a decent home field advantage and it could get even uglier than it was in KC's hostile house. This one is tough for me. I'm going with the Chiefs to surprise some doubters.
