With NFL season approaching, the Prediction System is returning as well. Now those who were on FanIQ last year remember this, but many of you probably don't have any idea. Well, I'll explain the concept, as well as the tweaks to the system for this year.How it works is that you rate each team based on these 7 different categories.
- Quarterbacks/Receivers/Tight Ends (yes that's one category)
- Running Backs
- Offensive Line
- Defensive Line
- Linebackers
- Defensive Backs
- Special Teams
- Coaches
After rating the teams, the results get put to the NFL schedule. You vote for each team, and the average of each category is tallied up. Then, the team with the higher score in a matchup (after the 5 point bonus to the home team) wins each game. FanIQ's consensus rankings as well as my own creates a prediction for the NFL season.
Last year, my rankings went 149-107 in Pick'em, while FanIQ's consensus went 151-105. (Considering no midseason adjustments, that's not bad) Let's see how we do this year. Polls for each team are open, and remain open until the season opener. We'll post the results before the week 1 games. Let's see how accurate we can get with this.
