Another fun week in sports, even if all we'll remember at the end is that insane Dwyane Wade dunk, or maybe the Doc Ellis video. While we look ahead to Patriots-Colts and other big games, we get the during the week sideshow of Eric Mangini being an idiot time and time again. We also got Thursday NFL for the first time this year, and Jay Cutler continues to blow in Chicago. I approve. Meanwhile, we apparently have a new in-state college rivarly, and in Idaho no less. The baseball season may have just ended, but that just means it's time to argue over the awards, and of course, time for a bad Bud Selig decision. Finally, this flowchart is awesome, and I don't just say that because I don't like NASCAR (that's just 75% of the reason).
Fun and Games
As always, this is just a sample of the great content you guys put out every day...It's only half a season into their careers, but who's the biggest rookie bust so far? This week's big game is of course Pats at Colts. Take your chances with this game poll. On the college side, predict what will happen in a big mid-major battle as Utah tries to end TCU's dream season. It's never too early to speculate on the futures of the big free-agent coaches. Where do you think Jon Gruden will be next year? As a Michigan hater, the fact that it's even a question whether they'll make a bowl game makes me smile. Turning to the NBA, where the Suns' hot start has surprised everyone, but are they for real? The college hardwood, meanwhile, is (slowly) getting underway. Anyone think they can guess the regular season champions of each conference? Finally, on a week where we celebrated our veterans, here's a quiz on service academy football, and one on Vietnam Vet Rocky Bleier.
Picks of the Week
We're heard a lot so far this NHL season about big hits. What we haven't heard a lot about is the fights. This pic makes me remember when we had our NHL Fight of the Night blog. Can we get that back?
There's nothing more unintentionally hilarious than athletes starring in local or regional commercials. When that athlete is a washed-up, interception machine, and the commercial is a Dukes of Hazzard parody, it's even more hilarious.
To this week's contributors: wyldePHX, Dodge#9, illini81887, pizzlewizzle, derms33, Hec718, Scott, huskerfan_ia, Dubya, redmiston, and jeffgordonfan38801.
As always, have a great week, and keep enjoying Season 2!
