This afternoon, we will find out who the BBWAA has elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame. Presumably, Rickey Henderson will make it, while Jim Rice is a distinct possibility as well.Since the ballot was announced, FanIQ has had the opportunity to vote as well. This year we had 133 votes. Not surprisingly, the fans have overwhelmingly elected Henderson. However, the fans elected someone that probably isn't going to make it with the writers, at least not yet...Andre Dawson, who received 77% of the vote.
Below are the complete totals for each player. Elected are in bold.

Some observations:
- For all the crap the writers get for being too inclusive, many of these players received much more support from the fans than they will get from the writers, at times comically so (Smith, Mattingly, Murphy, all of the non-Henderson first timers).
- That said, is McGwire's 60% a sign that fans don't care as much about steroids as they used to?
- The fans rank the outfield backlog Dawson-Rice-Murphy-Raines-Parker. The writers will likely go with Rice-Dawson-Raines-Parker-Murphy. Is this a sign of interchangeability between the five, or perception differences (or possibly more Cubs fans in our midst)?
- The writers also get crap for when they throw a stray vote to an obviously non deserving player. Yet many people did that here to the point that no one would've dropped off the ballot.
