Rebilas-US PRESSWIREAny Fantasy Basketball Participants out there that want to get an early leg-up in their league, look no further.  We’re only two days into the regular season, but here are 8 stats that have really stood out so far; 8 players you should definitely add to your radar (if not your roster) going forward:
12, 10 – Did the year-long anticipation live up to the hype?  Maybe not, but the Raptors played a close one in their home opener and rookie Center Jonas Valanciunas posted some solid numbers in his NBA debut.  Shooting 6 for 15 from the field with 12 points, 10 rebounds, and a very respectable 0 turnovers (a great sight from a foreign big man), Valanciunas could be a good addition to your roster, only owned in 41% of yahoo leagues as of now.
5 – Steals by Spurs F Kawhi Leonard in the team’s season opener.  Along with the 5 steals, Leonard posted a loaded stat-line: 19 points, 6-13 FGs, 4-4 FTs, 7 rebounds and 3 three pointers in 34 minutes.  Currently owned in 65% of yahoo leagues, Leonard is someone that could be on a roster in every league by the season’s end.
10-14 – Red hot shooting from Clippers G Jamal Crawford.  The former Wolverine dropped 29 points off the bench, hitting 3 three pointers and giving the Clippers a huge boost against the Grizzlies.  Currently owned in 61% of yahoo leagues, if you need a scorer, Crawford may be a bit inconsistent, but the points will come in bunches when they do come.
13 – Assists from Hornets G Grievis Vasquez in the team’s opener.  Eric Gordon figures to fit into the Shooting Guard position when he returns, but the point guard position is definitely Vasquez’s to lose.  Austin Rivers struggled in the team’s first game (and is really more of a Shooting Guard to start) while last year’s starter Jarrett Jack has moved on.  Owned in 65% of yahoo leagues, Vasquez is a great option if you need steady assists.

Oct 30, 2012; Cleveland, OH, USA; Cleveland Cavaliers shooting guard Dion Waiters (3) celebrates a three-point basket in the fourth quarter against the Washington Wizards at Quicken Loans Arena. Mandatory Credit: David Richard-US PRESSWIRE17 – Points scored in the NBA debut of Cavaliers G Dion Waiters.  Whether he was drafted too high or not, Waiters definitely figures to see a lot of playing time in Cleveland this year and with 2 threes and 3 steals in his first game, make sure to have Waiters on your radar going forward.  Currently owned in 68% of yahoo leagues.
24 – Minutes logged by Pistons F Jason Maxiell in the season opener.  There was a lot of speculation that rookie Center Andre Drummond would see more time, potentially start, but it looks like Coach Frank is going with the veteran Maxiell in the lineup for now.  If the solid playing time continues, Maxiell is a great source of rebounds and blocks in deep leagues.  He posted 10 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 blocks in Detroit’s home opener.
21 – After 7 underwhelming seasons in Atlanta, new Jazz F Marvin Williams is looking to turn over a new leaf.  In his debut in Utah, Williams dropped 21 points on 7-13 shooting.  He was also 5-5 from the line and hit 2 threes in his near-30 minutes on the court.  Don’t click the add button quite yet, but Marvin’s still only 26 years old and could have some fantasy hope just yet – stay tuned.
4 – Amount of three pointers hit by Mavericks rookie F Jae Crowder through 2 games.  If you’re looking for someone to supply you with threes in a deep 12-team league, Crowder could be a great option while Dirk is out.  And with a thin, aging frontcourt all around, Dallas may use Crowder all season long if his shots keep falling.
