After week 7, fantasy leagues are starting to show some signs separation, and some fantasy owners are showing signs of desperation. Those who are falling behind are running out of time and need to make changes quickly, and those who are on top of the standings need to look at how they can tweak their lineups for playoff success.
Here are the Studs and Duds from week 7. The studs are some guys who did a lot better than expected, and the duds are obviously the ones who fell short of expectations, and may have cost someone a win last week. Enjoy.
Studs:
QB Matt Cassel, Patriots - Cassel lit up the Broncos for 3 TD's on Monday. Champ Bailey and the Denver secondary held Cassel to only 185 yards, but the 3 TD's, including 2 to Randy Moss were huge for Cassel's fantasy owners. It looks like he's really starting to gel with Moss, and they are gradually inching closer to the big-play potential that the Patriots showed all last year.RB Lendale White, Titans - The Titans entire rushing attack was on point against the Chiefs. White rushed for 168 yards and a TD, and fantasy owners certainly won't complain about that. But it was White who really racked up the points, with 149 rushing yards and 3 TD's. Under standard Yahoo fantasy scoring, White got 32 points, which was second only to Steven Jackson among all players this week.
RB Honorable Mentions: Mewelde Moore, Steelers (31 points), Dominic Rhodes, Colts (23), Sammy Morris, Patriots (19)
WR Randy Moss, Patriots - Moss had his biggest game of the season, fantasy-wise. He and Cassel hooked up 5 times for 69 yards, and Moss scored 2 TD's in their 41-7 win over the Broncos. Moss scored 18 points in fantasy leagues, which is the highest output he has had this year.WR Honorable Mention: Calvin Johnson, Lions (23), Steve Smith, Panthers (18)
TE Owen Daniels, Texans - The return of Matt Schaub benefited Daniels greatly, as he caught 6 passes for 66 yards, including 2 TD's. He led all TE's in fantasy scoring, with 18 points.
TE Honorable Mention: Greg Olsen, Bears (13), Visanthe Shiancoe, Vikings (12), Martellus Bennett, Cowboys (12)
Chicago Bears Defense, Green Bay Packers Defense - Defenses don't usually make the list, but the Bears and Packers had an incredible week on D. The Bears allowed a whopping 41 points, but they also had 2 sacks, 4 INT's, a fumble recovery, 2 TD's and a blocked kick. That accounted for 22 points, which is especially impressive considering the massive amount of points that they allowed. The Packers were equally extraordinary. They only allowed 14 points to the Colts, and got 2 INT's, 2 TD's, and also a blocked kick.
Duds:QB Jay Cutler, Broncos - After seeing Phillip Rivers, Vincent Jackson and the Chargers pass all over the Patriots' depleted secondary, I expected Jay Cutler to be able to do the same, if not more so. I was looking for him, Brandon Marshall and Eddie Royal to exploit their weak secondary all day. It didn't happen. Cutler threw one TD pass, but he also threw 2 INT's, and only managed 9 fantasy points.
QB Dishonorable Mention - Peyton Manning, Colts (7)
WR Ronnie Brown, Dolphins - Brown is having a pretty good year. But like many other running backs, he struggled mightily against the Baltimore Ravens. He managed only 27 rushing yards, 1 receiving yard, and couldn't find the end zone. For those of you scoring at home, that's only 2 fantasy points.
RB Dishonorable Mention - LaDainian Tomlinson, Chargers (6)
WR Terrell Owens, Cowboys - TO didn't do well at all without his buddy Tony Romo under center. Brad Johnson failed to get the offense going, and TO owners paid the price. Owens had only 2 catches for 31 yards, accounting for 2 fantasy points.WR Dishonorable Mentions - Reggie Wayne, Colts (2), Greg Jennings, Packers (3)

For those of you out there who had a good week in your fantasy leagues, who were your star players who overachieved? If you're one of the unfortunate ones who had a rough week, who are your duds, who got you less points than you expected?
