Fantasy MMA Predictions For UFC 157: Rousey vs. Carmouche
Meanwhile, a potential light heavyweight title eliminator pits the legendary Dan Henderson against former titleholder Lyoto Machida.
With all that in mind lets take a look at UFC 157 main card from a fantasy MMA perspective:
Ronda Rousey (Salary $6,000) vs. Liz Carmouche (Salary $3,500)
This one is easy to call, Carmouche is as tough as they come but does not have anywhere near the skill level possessed by Rousey. Add in Rousey’s big-fight experience and we have a talent gap that will be difficult to overcome. Look for this Rousey to end this one quick.
Rousey: 110 points
Carmouche: 5 points
Dan Henderson (Salary $4,400) vs. Lyoto Machida (Salary $5,300)
Henderson used to be a great fighter with a deadly right hand. However, Dan is 42 years old with a bum knee - certainly not the fighter he used to be. I Don’t see anyway Dan is going get Machida to the ground. On their feet, Machida is going to run circles around Hendo. Look for a decision or a late round TKO by the Dragon.
Machida: 75 points
Henderson: 25 points
Urijah Faber (Salary $5,700) vs. Ivan Menjivar (Salary $3,900)
Not an easy fight for Faber but there is no facet of Menjivar game that is better than Fabers. Even if Menjivar where to get the advantage on the feet Faber should be able to take this fight to the ground at will. Ivan is tough, so expect this one to go the distance but don't expect this to be close.
Faber: 60 points
Menjivar: 25 points
Court McGee (Salary $4,900) vs. Josh Neer (Salary $4,600)
This fight has WORST fight of the night all over it. Both are slow, plodding grinders but the “Crusher” is the - grinder's grinder. Look for Neer to have his moments but McGee should be able to grind this out. McGee by easy yet boring decision.
McGee: 50 points
Neer: 15 points
Josh Koscheck (Salary $5,300) vs. Robbie Lawler (Salary $4,300)
If Koscheck wants to take Lawler to the ground, the fight is going to the ground. Lawler has no chance against Koscheck’s wrestling. The only way Robbie can win is if he lands a big punch. In other words, Lawler has a punchers chance so long as Koscheck decides to keep it on the feet. Look for Koscheck to play it safe and beat Lawler up for 3 rounds on the ground.
Koscheck: 60 points
Lawler: 10 points
