The overall numbers for last night don't look so good, but the most important part of it all is that I got mine. So, there will be no complaining from this corner. I might also point out to you that if you went through my analysis of each game, I was right on the button with the Grizzlies, Spurs, Wizards and Thunder. Knowledge is power, and instincts are crucial. You get your instincts from knowledge, and I think this is the only way to get around those dreaded adjustment phases that I've referred to over the last several days.
I know I missed out with the Bulls, but I said I wasn't going to move if Lu Deng didn't play. He didn't, and I was true to my word. A missed opportunity? Some might say so, but I don't need the aggravation that goes along with watching the Bulls get badly outplayed for 3 1/2-quarters, only to come back and when on a miracle play in the waning seconds and then still give up 2 wide open looks that could have tied the game in the last 7.6 seconds.
THE NBA (4-7 last night and 17-11 so far for the week)
SU WINNERS (5-6 last night and 14-13 so far for the week)
Raptors, Knicks and Clippers
TOTALS (6-5 last night and 16-12 so far for the week)
OVER - Raptors/MAGIC (199)
UNDERS - Knicks/CELTICS (189 1/2) and Clippers/SUNS (191 1/2)
BUTTA (1-0 last night and 2-1 so far for the week)
Clippers (-6 1/2) over SUNS - The Clips have an axe to grind tonight off of 2 straight losses, and the Suns look like the perfect prey. Phoenix is only 1-8 overall so far this season when on the back end of a b2b, and when those games have been played at home, the Suns are 0-3 with a differential of -14.3ppg. Clippers 95, SUNS 79
ALL THE REST
1. Raptors (+4) at MAGIC - It's been a real battle all season long trying to figure out what's up with either of these teams. According to the numbers I have, it sure looks like the Dinos have a clear edge, but I don't want anything to do with a team on a b2b off an OT game. Raptors 118, MAGIC 107
2. Knicks (-1) over CELTICS - I've said it before, and I'll say it again: The Celts stink! With that out of the way, the Knicks do still have some holes in their game, and the C's have won 11 of the last 13 meetings between these 2 teams. Simply put for me, this game is nothing more than a sideshow to find out how 'Melo and K.G. get along tonight. Knicks 95, CELTICS 92
No college hoops tonight. We won't be able to revisit that genre again until Saturday, so I'm in and out rather quickly today. I'm not going to complain about that either. Have a great rest of your day. If you're starting your weekend a little early, be careful out there. I'll see you again tomorrow.
