Sir Alex Ferguson has snubbed rumors suggesting Jose Mourinho will succeed him as the new manager of Manchester United. In spite of Sir Alex Ferguson’s claims, the Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho is tipped to replace the Scotsman once he decides to leave Old Trafford.

However, the Old Trafford boss claims his exit from Manchester United will be determined by his health, and as he is in “ruddy good health” there is no chance of Jose Mourinho arriving at the helm at the end of the season.

Jose Mourinho is expected to end his three-year spell at Real Madrid this season. It is still not clear who will replace the Jose Mourinho, although a couple of managers are being eyed by the Real Madrid board.

“You get this question all the time and I can't answer it because I am still the manager here,” Sir Alex Ferguson said. I hope I am still the manager tomorrow. It is impossible to discuss who is going to replace me because there is no time scale to it.”

Real Madrid will travel to Old Trafford for the second-leg of their Champions League bout against Manchester United on March 5. The Tuesday night battle will determine which team qualifies for the quarterfinals.

Thanks to an away goal in the 1-1 draw at Santiago Bernabeu, Manchester United have an advantage over Real Madrid ahead of the game. Jose Mourinho and Co. have an uphill challenge against Manchester United, who have been in good form as of late.

Real Madrid haven’t been doing so bad themselves. Jose Mourinho and his men grabbed two victories over archrivals Barcelona in the last couple of days. Sir Alex Ferguson is aware of Real Madrid’s threatening form, although he believes they have primed too soon.

“Real had two fantastic performances against Barcelona,” Sir Alex Ferguson said. “I saw the first one and they were absolutely superb. They have found form at the right time whereas we have been consistent for quite some time. As a European night, I don't think it gets much bigger than this one. We are two clubs with great histories and it is set up to be a great game.”

Jose Mourinho is also being linked with a return to Chelsea, where interim manager Rafael Benitez will step down from his post at the end of the season.
