Will had a great start to his season- 4 goals in his first game! Almost all the boys scored, and all played well. They were really gelling as a team- and having a good time. We played against the Fire- the team we scrimmaged on Thursday. The boys did great- last season although we had a great time, generally we did not match up against the other teams well. They don't keep score- but if they had we might have actually won this game- and i can safely say that would have been a first for this group of boys. I was impressed with each boy, as they all improved and listened to the instructions well.
Will really did well- he has such good instincts on the field- he always knows where the ball is, and for the most part puts himself between the ball and the goal at all times when he defends. The other Moms and Dads were commenting how much fun it is to watch Will, because he plays well. I was very pleased to hear them say that- because Will loves soccer so much- and although I have no aspirations for him to be in the MLS anytime soon, I would love him to be able to play well enough to enjoy it, and gain some success. Will has so many areas in which he struggles, its good to have a place where he can do well.
