I have never written a blog but I have to express my feelings from the UCLA/UT game from Sept. 1. I have taken this week off form sports because that game made me sick. But with this weekend games kickoffing off I figured I would start watching again and end my self-inflicted hold out. All week everyone at work has told me that it was such a great game. NO, IT WASN'T!! That game sucked from my stand point, the first half when your defense gives you FOUR, FOUR INTs and you only turn in SEVEN points, and that was because he ran it back for the points. And then your punt blocking team just let's them run untouch to block a punt, these are the things that doesn't make a game great. The second half thee was much more of the same. The officials , which were Pac 10, had to leave the glasses at home because how do you miss a clear safety like they did. I always thought that when you talke a player in his end zone that it was a safety, I guess not in the pac 10. I think the reason they gave was that his forward progress would have carried him out or some BS like that after the review. AFTER THAT CALL I WAS WATCHING IN PROTEST!! So let me tell you how the game would have ended if the refs didn't blow that call, which nobody seems to remember until I bring it up. The safety would have made the score 16-10. Tennessee would have gotten the ball back, but which was the story most of the game and would have to punt it make to UCLA. Then UCLA would take the ball down the field and score a TD, making the score 17-16 UCLA. Then Tennessee would have go down and score a TD and with a two point conversion, score 24-17. UCLA scores again, scored tied at 24-24. Then Tennessee drives into field goal range, Lincoln's kick is up and it is good, final score Tennessee 27 UCLA 24, NO OVERTIME! Call my a homer, call me a soreloser, but I tell you if the refs would have made that correct call on that safety Tennessee would have won that game and no one whould be saying the Rick Neuheisel one his first game as head coach at UCLA. So the next person that says to me the my Vols lost that game they will hear me say, "What are you talking about Tennessee won, 27-24?" and then I will walk away. Yeah I know that people will think I'm crazy or something but that is how I'm going to deal with this and for me I think it is the correct think to do. So why many people think that the Vols are 0-1, to me and to everyone that knows the rules of football, they are 1-0. So let's GO VOLS, beat UAB next week to go 2-0 playing Florida on Sept 20.
