Prior to last fall, Air Force Head Coach Fisher DeBerry was one of the more respected coaches in the profession. He was 169-107-1 at the Academy, the most wins in the history of the program. Sadly, Fisher will forever be remembered for his comments last fall following another loss:
"We were looking at things, like you don't see many minority athletes in our program ... It just seems to be that way, that Afro-American kids can run very, very well. That doesn't mean that Caucasian kids and other descents can't run, but it's very obvious to me they run extremely well."DeBerry, 68, has called it quits today. A decision many thought needed to happen last fall. Happy retirement Frank, I'll do my best to remember you for something different.
