Blog Photo - Florida hits rock bottom, loses to Georgia SouthernIt's been a disastrous year for the Florida Gators. They have been flush by injuries, especially at quarterback. Their offense has mostly collapsed as a result, and they came into this week staring at a five game losing streak and a bowl-less season.

This week it found a way to get worse, as Florida lost to FCS Georgia Southern 26-20. The loss drops the Gators to 4-7 and ensures a losing season. This is the first time Florida has ever lost to an FCS team.

The Eagles led most of the game, only to see Florida tie it up late. However, Georgia Southern came back to score the winning touchdown (albeit with a missed extra point) with 2:57 to go. Florida drove down the field for one last chance, but the final play was broken up by two Georgia Southern defenders.

Florida's horrid offense could only manage 279 total yards. Quarterback Skyler Mornhinweg averaged a mere 5.1 yards a pass. That's actually still more production in the air than Georgia Southern had. The Eagles threw just three times and didn't complete any of them for a big fat zero passing yards. However, they shredded the Gators on the ground for 429 yards.

Florida coach Will Muschamp's seat was already red hot, and this embarrassment might have sealed his fate.
