Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao have been playing a ridiculous back-and-forth game for years. Despite the fact that a fight between the two of them would be a boxing fan's dream, they have each come up with every excuse possible to avoid it.No matter what order you want to put them in, Pacquiao and Mayweather are the two best pound-for-pound boxers on the planet. Very few would argue that.
The latest excuse? Floyd Mayweather says that fighting Pacquiao would be hazardous to his health.
Most Pacquiao fans would agree, but Mayweather's reasoning is probably a bit different. "Money" says that he thinks Pacquiao is taking performance enhancing drugs, and that could give him an edge that could result in an injury to Mayweather.
Still, he claims that he's not scared. However, that might be a little hard to believe after hearing those comments.""People say, 'We don't give a f--- if he's taking or not; we just want to see the fight. We don't give a f--- about your health and we don't give a f--- about your family.' I care about my family. I love my family. They're going to be there when no one else is there. When my career is over, you're all going to move on to the next one."
Mayweather's next fight is Saturday night against Miguel Cotto, whom Pacquiao beat back in November of 2009. After that, he'll be heading to jail for 90 days, thanks to a domestic violence incident. Pacquiao is fighting Timothy Bradley on June 9.
What will it take to get Pacquiao and Mayweather in a ring together? Will we ever see it?
