I guess all those talks about Memphis basketball being all John Calipari can be put to rest for the time being. Forward Latavious Williams (ranked #17 in Rivals.com’s class of 2009) committed to the U of M today. He is the first five star recruit under new coach Josh Pastner.
Can you name another coach to land a five star recruit without coaching a college game before? Unless Florida International lands Lance Stevenson, it will be safe to say he’s the first that comes to mind.
