"Madden 25" demo now available for free to blissfully waste your remaining August
The "Madden 25" demo download is free, but not just anyone can play it. You need to have an XBox 360 or a relatively recent PlayStation console on which to play "Madden NFL". If you were hoping to just download the "Madden 25" demo on your desktop and play it with a mouse and trackpad, that is not going to happen.
But if you've got an XBox or PlayStation, the "Madden 25" demo download has lowered the "Boom!" and is now available for free. There are separate download sites for the "Madden 25" demo download for XBox and "Madden 25" demo download for PlayStation.
The demo lets you play only one quarter (five minutes) of "Madden 25". You can play one of two games -- Ravens-49ers at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore (a lights-out Super Bowl XLVII rematch) or Packers-Seahawks at Lambeau Field (a Fail Mary game rematch). You do not replay those memorable games over again, you stage their 2013 rematches with this year's fully updated roster and skill scores. The weather and game conditions will remain the same every quarter that you replay.
There are also some new Skills Trainer features in the demo to help you master the new "Madden" before it is even released. You can get a look at this year's gameplay and graphics upgrades in the "Madden 25" demo video below.
For those of you who must know, Tuesday, August 27 is the 2013 Madden Holiday (the day on which the new "Madden" is released, and Maddenheads nationwide call in sick to work to best learn the new version as quickly as possible).
Anyone buying "Madden 25" at GameStop on that first day of release will receive a free Fathead wall decal. But read the fine print, people -- it's the smaller Fathead "Teammate" decal, and therefore less fat.
