Friday Conference Tournament Thread: Many Bids To Be Had
Outside of next Thursday and Friday, this is the best basketball day of the year. Didn't I say that yesterday? Oh well, probably say it again tomorrow.

After just about every bubble team tripped over their feet, and a referee's whistle in one instance, there are many bids to be had for those playing today. Teams like Arkansas and Ohio State are probably in, but they can punch their ticket and sleep easy on Sunday.

Best games:

Ohio State vs Michigan State (2:30, ESPN) Buckeyes beat the Spartans one week ago, and could to win again. For the Spartans, it's time to see which version shows up today. The one that easily beat Texas or the one that lost to Iowa and Penn State. If the former shows up, they're plenty talented to win the BTT. OK, maybe you're not interested, but I am.

West Virginia vs Georgetown (7, ESPN) Joe Alexander and Bill Raftery will kick off your weekend right. Mountaineers are playing well, but I still like the Hoyas here.

USC vs UCLA (9, FSN) What will the Pac-10 officials try tonight? I'm liking the Trojans. OJ Mayo has found his shooting touch and that should continue.

Texas A&M vs Kansas State (9:30) Both teams are technically on the bubble, but with yesterday's debacle of all others in their company losing makes even the loser of this game comfortable. That said, the Wildcats could ill afford yet another loss to end the season. Looking forward to see how Michael Beasley elevates his play now that he's in one and NBA territory. 30 and 15 is to be expected tonight.

Time to warm up for St. Paddy's Day with many pints of college hoops.

Nothing about today's riveting Wisconsin/Michigan match-up?  When you're down 10 to Wisconsin 4 minutes into the game, you're probably screwed.
You're screwed when you put on a Michigan basketball jersey in the locker room. Let's be real.

I agree!  I've often called the last 3 or 4 days of the Conference Championships, especially today, Mini March Madness.  There's actually more games available, especially if you have DirectTV.  Im on vacation this week, so i'm going to blog, watch and drink!

Blog. Watch. Drink. Rinse and repeat.

That's pretty much all there is to do over the next three weeks.

I am partial to calling this time of years the Ides of Insanity.

Geez... I'm glad that every call is going against us while we're playing against Michigan as opposed to a real team that we'll have to face in the next round.

As long as we don't substitute the beer for scope in the morning to rinse...we should be fine...although a beer in the morning builds character (or takes away the pain at my age...)

Anyone see the story over at TBL about the Russian figure skater named Anna Semenovich (seriously)?  Shes nice to look at.

I've never heard that one before.  As long as there's V-8, there will always be vodka and Mary

The officiating in the MSU/OSU game has been ridiculous in the last minute.  The Buckeyes have been straight up screwed.  Maybe we brought in Pac-10 officials?

Steve Lavin just said in the OSU-MSU game that the officiating last week in UCLA's games affected the seeding in each region.  Is this really a valid point?

It sounds like even Izzo was disappointed in the officiating and that's what he said to Matta after the game. Consider the last time they played OSU was only called for 8 fouls, I'll take it, though.
