From The Armchair: Saints Week 2
The Good - Saints won and are now 2-0 on the young season. The defense once again played well and had some key turnovers down the stretch which Saints fans seen very little of last season. One major improvement Ryan has made on Saints defense from last season is tackling and especially in the open field. Saints gave up tons of yards after catch last season on missed tackles in route to being one of the worst defenses in the universe.
The Ugly - The play of the Saints offensive line was absolutely horrible. The Bucs front seven pretty much dominated most of the game and kept the pressure on Brees play after play. Saints couldn't get the run game going consistently for the second game in a row and again it was a big problem. Against quality defenses you can't become one dimensional for extended periods of time or your going to get exposed even with a great offense like the Saints have. INJURIES they just keep on coming for the defensive unit in New Orleans. Starting CB Patrick Robinson went down in what seemed like a horrible leg injury which fans hope is not as bad as it looked and not season ending. How ineffective former first round draft picks Mark Ingram continues to be in Saints running game. Yet he continues to be called upon by coach Payton to run the ball at key points in the game with little to no results at the disgust of Saints fans.
But were still 2-0 as the Arz Cardinals come on down to the Bayou in Week 3 !
