From the Armchair: Arizona Cardinals, Week 12
Carson Palmer threw for 191 yards with 75% completion rating with two touchdowns to Larry Fitzgerald, who had arguably his best game of this season. He also became the youngest player in NFL history to reach 11,000 yards at age 30. Michael Floyd had 100 yards receiving from 7 receptions for the 2nd straight game in a row. Rashard Mendenhall also ran in a touchdown for 5 yards. Kicker Jay Feely added 4 field goals to contribute to Arizona’s surprisingly high scoring game.
Linebacker Karlos Dansby intercepted a pass by Andrew Luck and returned it 22 yards for a touchdown. The Colts couldn’t make a single score after a field goal in the first half, completing just 96 total yards through the first 3 quarters until the fourth quarter when they finally got a touchdown from Coby Fleener complete with a 2 point conversion.
The Cardinals have made several adjustments and changes to their typical style of play and the progress has shown greatly as they had the biggest point spread this week and against a near lock for the playoffs. Next week they face a well rested Eagles team in Philadelphia, so they will have to continue doing what they already are and try to avoid mistakes at any costs if they want a chance for a wild card playoff berth.
