From the Armchair: Cleveland Browns Week 7
Cleveland was never in this game. After their initial 3 and out Green Bay only needed to drive 40yds for their first touchdown. On Cleveland’s ensuing drive they made it as far as the Green Bay 35 before Weeden threw an interception to Davon House.
Green Bay converted that turnover into 7 points. Down 14-0 the teams swapped field goals in the second quarter. In the third quarter Cleveland managed another field goal, and shut out Green Bay. Green Bay then outscored Cleveland 14-7 in the fourth.
Cleveland's coaching staff still refuses to run the ball. Green Bay out rushed Cleveland 104 to 83, and out gained them through the air 260-149. Weeden was inconsistent. Occasionally looking like an NFL quarterback, but he only completed 40% of his passes and still had moments when he looked panicked and threw the ball up for grabs.
The defense held on for 3 quarters before the game got out of reach in the fourth. They Held Lacey to 83 yards rushing and Rogers to 260 yds passing.
Travis Benjamin had another long kickoff return (86yds) to set up Cleveland’s only touchdown. The Browns also had 12 penalties for 106 yards.
Jermicheal Finley suffered a neck injury late in the game. The team says he has felling in all his extremities but is still hospitalized and undergoing more tests.
