From the Armchair: Dolphins, Week 1
The Dolphins opened their season against the Cleveland Browns. Here's what a wonderful fan had to say about that:
On the bright side, the Dolphins are currently undefeated… on the road. I'll take it; along with a deep tissue massage to release the pain in my body from the stress of watching one of the worst running games in Dolphins history. Total rushing yards? 23 yards on 20 attempts and a TD by Daniel Thomas. Lamar Miller who?? Somehow Ryan Tannehill held it together despite pressure from Cleveland’s meh defense and managed to find receivers, albeit NOT the 60 million dollar man Mike Wallace who was practically invisible during the game with 1 reception for 15 yards. Not(!) a happy camper when he left the field and he was (of course) vocal about it. Tannehill did manage to find Brian Hartline 9 times for over 100 yards and a TD. If the Dolphins O line can't get it together to let the running game develop, and Wallace is left whining about being used as a decoy, it's gonna be a long season.
Defense kept us in this game; Cleveland’s Brandon Weeden is probably curled up in a hot tub somewhere after being sacked 6 times. Cameron Wake was a force all day, leading with 2 1/2 sacks. Our cornerbacks, despite pulled groins right and left (Don't they stretch?), managed 3 interceptions, and the all-purpose defense knocked down balls all day long.
We have a kicker with a leg again! Rookie Sturgis was good for 3 FG's. I expect we will be seeing a lot of him.
Jason, anything you want to add or change?
Jason_ actually was unable to watch the game, so I'll just say what he would have said. "Whatever Laurel says is correct. Always. (Expletive), (expletive), ugh Ryan Tannehill still?! (expletive). I'm out."
Next up: Colts on the road at 1pm EST. Ummm...
