From the Armchair: Kansas City Chiefs, Week 11

This is not a fun article to write, but it had to happen at some point, right? The Chiefs are no longer undefeated. They are no longer in first place, and no longer on pace for a first round bye.

It's not time to hit the panic button just yet. Kansas City is still 9-1 and does still control its own destiny in the division and the AFC as a whole.

The pass rush disappears, Andy Reid inexplicably abandons the running game and Alex Smith can't stretch the field. Those are the dimensions that made people predict Kansas City to finish 6-10.

Still, there was some good in yesterday's 27-17 loss at Denver. Kansas City was in the game throughout, despite clearly playing with nerves in a packed, loud, hostile environment. Do I think the season is lost? No. Do I think the Chiefs can beat Denver in 2 weeks in Kansas City? Maybe.

Overall, I need to be happy. I have watched the Chiefs all season, and it took until Week 11 for me to want to throw my remote through my television. If that ain't progress, I don't know what is.

For some serious game analysis (aka, my takeaways), hit the jump as per usual.

It had to happen, what the '72 Dolphins accomplished will probably never happen again. I have a feeling the Chiefs regroup and come back strong. Good job.

I hope you're right!

This was the game I was worried about.
