Lets kick this thing off. Pittsburgh Steelers, 0-2, week 2. For those of you who aren't ready for the realization of the Steelers and the 2013/2014 season you may want to skip this. After an off-season of letting free agents walk (good riddance), releasing under preforming / over aged players, which was needed, this start is to be somewhat expected.
This year is going to be ups and downs, mostly downs. The team is going through a rebuilding processes, which I'm good with, it's time. Tomlin was given Cowher's gem and now has to build his own. Don't get me wrong, Tomlin is the coach for the Steelers, he's in a new position and has to work through it.
Defense: I'm not sure where to even start with this group. From too old to rookies still learning the Dick LeBeau defense. I know this is going to upset a few, but it's time to part ways with Troy. Troy is either terrible good, or just terrible. Troy's Tasmanian Devil style play gives you awesome head turning plays, or face palms when the over runs the timing. Ike, he's lost a step along the way, and rightfully so at 33. This defense needs consistency and youth. Jarvis Jones has potential to be the rule abiding version of Harrison.
There wasn't enough highlight, and too many low lights of this game for me to go in to detail. Much like last week the Steelers under performed, they may not be the Steelers of the past 6 years, but are much better than to date. Figure it out!! Oh and please stop with the 7 talk? Steelers currently have the same odds the Jaguars do making the playoffs.
Thanks! Jot out.
