From the Armchair: San Diego Chargers, Week 1

Editors note: Some of our "From the Armchair" articles will be written and submitted to us by fans of the teams who either cannot or do not want to post fan articles. In cases such as these, I will be publishing them on their behalf. For the San Diego Chargers, I present to you, on location, Rogs!

Hey everyone, its me...ROGS! Can you believe it? I'm excited to have the opportunity to correspond with you guys again even if it can only be through my brilliant weekly Chargers game summaries.

Blog Photo - From the Armchair: San Diego Chargers, Week 11st half observations: 21-7 Chargers. What can I say? Even I didn't expect that. Rivers looking like his 2009 self as he lets the ball soar with confidence. ( 3 TD's 0 INT's.) His o-line did a decent job of giving him some time to throw, although he didn't have as much time as I hoped to see but its still an improvement...thus far.
Charger D line didn't look so great in the fist half (73 rushing yards allowed) and the secondary didn't look like they could make a solid tackle in the open field but did come up with some clutch 3rd down stops to make up for it.

Dwight Freeny looked good, very aggressive and always pressuring Shaub.

Chargers shut down defensive POY JJ Watt in the first half which was HUGE for the Bolts.

Second half...
Chargers come out swinging with a 48-yard bomb to Malcolm Floyd, followed Phillip Rivers' 4th TD pass to Eddie Royal, (his second of the game)...28-7 Chargers.

3rd quarter was forgettable. Chargers giving up way too many yards thru the air and letting Houston climb back to within two touchdowns. Again, Chargers secondary not making tackles and playing poor zone defense. Shaub and company dominated the 3rd quarter.

Chargers gave up 358 total yards of offense through the first 3 quarters... no bueno.

4th quarter- Shaub continued his dominance early on after a bu**sh*t call as the Texans were kicking a field goal, further advancing the p**ification of the NFL. 28-21 Chargers

Brian Cushing intercepted Rivers and took it to the house to tie the game at 28 all...2012 Chargers are rearing their ugly head in a big way, I don't think I can do this again. Why do you do this to me...why?

I'm outta here, I'm starting to feel sick and I don't think I have the stomach for the rest of this game. I'll see you next week... wow...

Rogs out.

Rogs , hope its going well out west buddy  yes

Bolts may have folded and given it up late but some good things can be taken from the game all in all. They really did look more cohesive on offense then last couple years and if Rivers can just stay away from the turnovers he could put up some nice numbers this season.

Lack of Norv will make anything look better.

Rogs. Good to see you representing, though I must say your ghost things were cool when they popped up. Rivers was unbelievable, all the way up to where he woke up.

Good luck this year.  yes
