From the Armchair: San Francisco 49ers: Week 11

Blog Photo - From the Armchair: San Francisco 49ers: Week 11 I've been a little reluctant to write my "From the Armchair" articles the last couple weeks for one reason. I'm simply appalled by the play of the San Francisco 49er offense, and in particular Quarterback Colin Kaepernick. I'm not gonna throw out a bunch of stats except for a couple; the offense ranks 29th in the NFL. That means there are only 3 teams that are more inept than the Niner offense. Colin Kaepernick has looked completely confused at times, throwing interceptions straight into the arms of defensive backs, he got lucky last week when a sure pick 6 was reversed when the defender fumbled the football through the endzone, resulting in a touchback and the 49ers were able to retain possession of the football. Their defense has kept the 49ers in both of the last 2 games, losses to Carolina 10-9 at home and a tough fought 23-20 defeat at the hands of the New Orleans Saints in a tough to play in Louisiana Superdome. At this point in the season the 49ers are playing for their playoff lives and are hoping to get a wildcard berth as the division is all but wrapped up barring a Seattle Seahawk collapse.

The one thing the 49ers have in their favor is a softer schedule the last 6 games as their opposition has a combined record of 27-34, if you take out the Seattle Seahawks record the other 5 teams are 17-33. The 49er defense is going to keep them in close games. however, Colin Kaepernick has got to turn the corner and show the same poise and confidence he demonstrated last year in getting the 49ers to the Super Bowl, his performance the rest of the way will make or break this team. The fans in San Francisco are getting restless and Colin Kaepernick has got to be feeling the pressure, as well he should.
NFL by the numbers – 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick has been the NFL’s worst passer since Week 2
Here's a few tidbits to chew on.....NFL by the numbers – 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick has been the NFL’s worst passer since Week 2.......154 – Passing yards per game by San Francisco’s Colin Kaepernick since Week 2, the NFL’s lowest average among qualified quarterbacks, according to ESPN Stats & Info.    .     Need I say more :(
