From the Armchair: San Francisco 49ers: Week 3
Sorry this was late, I've been working alot this week. Give me another second, after watching the game I felt a little ill.
The 49ers were soundly beaten by the Indianapolis Colts last Sunday by a score of 27-7. The Offense was horrific and I'm not gonna use stats in this article as they really don't matter right now. The 49ers were without Tight-End Vernon Davis, WR Michael Crabtree, WR Mario Manningham and on the Friday before the game Linebacker Aldon Smith was arrested for DUI at 7am (his second DUI in as many years), Aldon has since left the team to focus on his personal issues and will be gone from the team for at least 4-6 weeks.
As far as the season goes it's kinda weird here in SF. Frank Gore is steamed at the play calling and his involvement in the offense. The 49ers have 1, and I mean 1 Receiver in Anquan Boldin.....after only 3 games a Super-Bowl favorite is looking like a very mediocre football team as I type this. Thursday Nights game in St. Louis is now a much more critical game for the 49ers to win than it was 2 weeks ago.
Jim Harbaugh's play calling has been criticized as it should be. The 49ers have committed momentum stalling penalties time after time and there is not anyone at this time who seems to be willing to step up. If Colin Kaepernick is gonna be the Captain on this ship he needs to take charge and take charge now...let's see what happens Thursday Night in St. Louis
