From the Armchair: Seattle Seahawks, Week 8
They may have fixed the fumble issue; 7 sacks and that offensive line was trash but they didn't put the ball on the ground.
That freaking catch! Golden had 2 TD's on the night, and although that taunting mess overshadowed his 2nd one, that was a beautiful play by Tate. What a catch.
Earl Thomas. He was a bigger factor on defense last night than people might realize.
That goal line stand. I'm not entirely sure why they didn't run the ball on that 4th & Goal, considering Stacy torched us all night.
That missed field goal that could have gone 90 yards but was wide right. *whew*
I guess in a win like this, teams take the same lessons away as they would from a loss, but still get the W. I shouldn't complain too much...
Let's see if you can figure it out by my tweets and RT's during the game last night:
Do I need to say it yet again? O-line. Giacomini ticks me off taking stupid penalties at key moments in the game, but we're missing him. Bowie's doing okay, but he was way outmatched against Chris Long last night; they should have given him some help. Paul McQuistan is not the answer at left tackle. I'm not even sure he's the answer at guard at this point, which is his natural position. That guy couldn't block my 12-yo daughter. And Sweezy. Good lord! Nobody was blocking last night (as made evident by 7 sacks on my QB.) They're going to get Wilson killed.
I know we're hurting on the o-line, but Bevell should have made adjustments and he didn't. Play calling last night was a huge factor in how that game went down.
Marshawn Lynch only had 8 carries and something like 23 yards. Seriously. But he did have a pretty good play:
Oh and this made me mad...Marshawn was still making forward progress and the refs decided to stop the play anyway.
Wilson's decision making also took a step back again last night, after taking a couple of steps forward over the past couple of weeks.
Seriously, with the Golden Tate nonsense? I'm not talking about the taunt (which was stupid and his goofy ass almost went out of bounds because of it), I'm talking about the overreaction to it by fans and the media. We don't know what was going on or what was being said out there on the field throughout the entire game. Apparently Jenkins likes to get a little personal when talking trash...just ask Steve Smith. Is it possible that little "keep talking" motion after Golden's wave was significant? That doesn't excuse taking a stupid penalty and putting the team in a bad spot, but emotions run high, especially in a game like that. People got out of control last night in response. Tate received tweets wishing injury and even death on him, and even professional media people were making nasty comments. He didn't physically hurt anybody. He didn't even flip anybody off. He waved. He got the flag. It's over. Move on.
They won. On the road. And regardless of what anybody says about the Rams being an inferior team with a sub-par backup at the helm and the Hawks "barely" winning, the Rams always play us tough. Always. I knew that was not going to be the easy win everyone was predicting. I told y'all not to take the points.
